Doric Hotel - A seafront family hotel with live entertainment, pools, and proximity to Blackpool's attractions

Located on Queen's Promenade overlooking the Irish Sea, Doric Hotel is a 3-star property featuring 103 ensuite rooms equipped with flat-screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities, and some offering sea views. Guests can enjoy two swimming pools-an outdoor pool with a sunbathing patio and poolside bar, and an indoor pool with a sauna, plunge pool, and steam room. The Pavilion on the Prom serves freshly prepared food and drinks, while nightly live entertainment includes tribute acts like Elton John and Whitney Houston. The hotel is a 25-minute walk from Blackpool North Station and 5 km from Blackpool International Airport. Nearby attractions include Genting Casino Blackpool (0.5 km) and North Shore Beach (0.5 km). Families can take advantage of children's entertainment during school holidays, and a games room provides pool tables and arcade-style games.

Pros

The outdoor pool area includes a sunbathing patio and bar, serving drinks and snacks.

Live entertainment runs nightly, featuring tribute performances and family-friendly shows.

Some rooms offer direct views of the Irish Sea from private conservatories.

The Pavilion on the Prom accommodates events with tailored catering and entertainment options.

Cons

The seafront location can result in higher ambient noise due to nearby attractions.

Some facilities, such as the outdoor pool, are seasonal and not available year-round.

“This seafront hotel emphasizes entertainment, so families should appreciate the pools, bar service, and evening shows; rooms are clean, with some offering sea views. Despite some comments on bed firmness, the staff's kindness stood out. It seems a fine choice for a lively, value-focused stay.”
